Reflection

To my dearest love,

I am writing this letter to you in hopes that it will find its way into your heart. I miss you. I have always missed you. I will always miss you. Being without your smile, your face, your aura is like needles in my heart. You are my everything. I would travel across vast lands to feel your love again. Please, I beg you, tell me where you are. I need you. I need to know that you are safe, that you are happy and that you are loved.

Tears have fallen from my red eyes every night as time attempts to erase you from my memory. I cannot let that happen. I will not let that happen. You are immortalized in my reflection. I remember when you would smile so tenderly at the sight of a baby bird. I remember how you would stand in the summer rain and let the rain caress every curve of your full face. I remember the coils and darkness of your hair, how my fingers would get lost in them. I remember you. I will always remember you. I will find you.

When our paths cross again, please recognize me. Look into my eyes and see that I am you. I was you. Lost. Lost in everyone’s image of me. I realized that I was becoming everything that they wanted me to be. I became no one. Please let me know what I need to do. Please.
